All components of the assessment are charged at the rate of $230 per hour*. The number of hours required for each assessment varies depending upon the components required and the individual characteristics of the child. There is no extra charge for travel time to your child’s school if the school is in one of our service suburbs. A quote for the expected number of assessment sessions needed and for the report will be provided prior to any services taking place.

As an example, a comprehensive assessment for learning difficulties may include:

  • intake session (one hour)
  • assessment sessions (cognitive and academic) at school (total 4-5 hours)
  • comprehensive report (5-6 hours writing time)
  • feedback session (one hour)

    • There are generally no Medicare rebates available for psychological assessments of this nature, although rebates may be available for assessment of particular complex neurodevelopmental disorders with a referral from a paediatrician or psychiatrist.     * This is well below the AAPi recommended fee of $300 for a 40-60 minute consultation.
