If your child has academic difficulties, it is wise to try 6-12 months of evidence-based intervention (remedial help) targetting your child’s areas of difficulty. Part of the formal diagnosis of Specific Learning Disorder requires consideration be given to the intervention the child has already received. We do not specifically assess for autism. If traits that may be consistent with autism are observed in your child's history and behaviour, the observations will be included in the assessment report. During the feedback session we can discuss whether referral to another professional more experienced in autism assessment may be appropriate.

Most assessments are completed over a span of 4-6 weeks. More information about the assessment process can be found here.

We operate a mobile service. Parent sessions will be via telehealth. If your child’s school is within our service zone, with permission from the principal we will travel to your child’s school to conduct the assessment at no separate cost for travel.
